The bulb’s stem will only disperse the amount of water that the soil needs. Therefore, if the plant is thirsty, the globe delivers more water. On the other hand, if you have an arid or drought-tolerant variety, you won’t have to replenish the bulb as often.
Tips on Filling Your Water Globe and How Often to Refill It:
Adjust the insertion depth according to the size of the flower pot. Plus, if you want the globe to remain hidden, you can push the waterer lower underneath the foliage.
On the other hand, you may want to encourage more frequent irrigation. In this case, I’d plant the stem of the watering bulb at a shallower depth in the soil.
In addition, you can insert two watering bulbs into one pot if you have a very thirsty plant.
